The summer solstice has passed and it is officially summer. One of the best things about summer is the ability to host a get-together outside in the nice warm weather. Unfortunately our yards aren’t always prepared for this and we end up with no way to entertain! Lucky for you, we’ll give you five outdoor entertainment ideas that will make your backyard the place to be over summer!

Patio-

The tried and true, a patio is a great addition to any backyard. It accomplishes a few things that can improve your situation, including increasing resale value and adding more “living space”. One of the best parts about a patio is the ability to create a scene that reflects you and your interests. If you like lounging, an outdoor sofa on a patio is a great space! If you love nature, having a patio with a pergola will allow you to incorporate vines and plants around the area as well. Finally, a patio gives the ability to be the perfect spot for outdoor entertainment. If you host a birthday party, you have the ability to serve cake on the patio, then allow the kids to run and play in the yard, while the adults sit and talk peacefully. A patio also allows you to switch it up and eat dinner outside instead of having another meal in the dining room. With so many possibilities, a patio is a staple of outdoor entertainment.

Pool-

Another option for outdoor entertainment is a firepit. While a pool may only be used over the summer, a fire pit can be used throughout the spring, summer and fall! If you’re a former boy or girl scout and creating a fire with your own two hands is appealing, a natural wood burning firepit is the way to go. Whereas if you want a firepit, but aren’t digging the work of maintaining the fire, a gas firepit is more up your alley. Having a get-together at night with everyone around the fireplace making smores will surely create fond memories.

This outdoor entertainment option allows the grownups easy access to cold beverages, without having to venture back inside.
